Creating a Succulent Garden

★ ★ ★

Succulents are plants that have thick leaves full of water, unique shapes, and come from arid regions of the world. They make great container gardens for outdoor full sun locations such as patios, decks or balconies.

1

Choose one or more containers.

2

Fill each container with potting soil (do not tamp or pack down soil with hands).

3

Select succulents to plant together in one of the pots. Don’t plant too deep.

4

Remove them from their containers, and plant them in the main container.

5

Add soil around each planted succulent.

6

Topdress with a ¼ inch layer of fine gravel to soil surface.

7

Water and saturate the soil so that water runs out of the drainage holes of the container.

8

Wait 20 minutes, and repeat.

9

Wait another 20 minutes, and repeat.
